Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Rig Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment on drilling rigs, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical rig equipment. 

• Ensure compliance with operating procedures, safety rules, and maintenance requirements. 

• Investigate equipment failures, identify causes, implement corrective actions, and report findings. 

• Prepare equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, and spare-parts plans. 

• Maintain accurate equipment operation, inspection, and maintenance records. 

• Record completed maintenance activities and update equipment information in the PMS. 

• Manage lubricants and oils, including storage, usage, sampling, analysis, and inspection. 

• Prepare and submit monthly equipment and maintenance reports. 

• Review records for the receipt, issuance, warehousing, and storage of spare parts. 

• Inspect pressure vessels and coordinate the testing or replacement of safety valves. 

• Supervise and guide rig personnel during equipment maintenance activities. 

• Perform other duties assigned by the Toolpusher or Rig Manager. 

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably on drilling rigs. 

• Diploma or technical qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field. 

• Strong knowledge of drilling-rig equipment, diesel engines, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems. 

• Experience with preventive maintenance systems (PMS). 

• Strong troubleshooting, reporting, supervision, and teamwork skills. 

• Good knowledge of drilling-site HSE requirements. 

• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule at field locations in Basra.
