Job Description
Nahaj Al Khair Company is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to manage and monitor health, safety and environmental activities for our construction project, with particular focus on structural steel fabrication, lifting and erection works.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the project's HSE Plan, procedures and requirements.
Conduct site inspections, safety audits and toolbox meetings.
Prepare and review Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA and Method Statements.
Monitor lifting operations, crane activities, rigging, work at height and hot work.
Ensure compliance with PPE, fall protection, scaffolding and access requirements.
Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Conduct emergency preparedness drills and maintain emergency response procedures.
Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports and statistics.
Coordinate with the Construction Manager, QA/QC, Project Management and Client/Consultant HSE teams.
Promote a strong safety culture and immediately intervene in unsafe activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
5+ years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction/steel erection projects.
NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent HSE certification is an advantage.
Good knowledge of lifting operations, work at height, hot work and construction safety.
Strong communication, reporting and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively under site conditions and pressure.
Very good English language skills. · The salary is not less than IQD 2,000,000, with the final salary to be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and interview outcome.
