Job Vacancy: Design Department Manager

A leading Real Estate and Industrial Investment Company is seeking to hire a highly qualified Design Department Manager to lead, manage, and develop all design activities across its projects.

Required Qualifications:

 • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.

 • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in design and engineering projects.

 • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ACI, BS, Eurocode, or equivalent).

 • Proficiency in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAFE, and other relevant tools based on specialization.

 • Solid experience in preparing and reviewing Shop Drawings and detailed construction drawings.

Engineering Duties & Responsibilities:

 • Manage all stages of design development, from Concept Design to IFC (Issued for Construction) Drawings.

 • Supervise the preparation of architectural, structural drawings, and technical detailing packages.

 • Review structural loads and design calculations to ensure compliance with approved international codes.

 • Coordinate between different disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical – MEP Coordination).

 • Review and approve materials and technical specifications in line with project requirements.

 • Provide engineering solutions to site-related challenges in coordination with the construction team.

 • Ensure adherence to design schedules and minimize costly modifications during execution.

 • Develop internal standards, procedures, and best practices for the Design Department aligned with international benchmarks.

Managerial Skills:

 • Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers efficiently.

 • Develop departmental work plans and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

 • Prepare periodic reports for senior management regarding design progress and performance.
