Job Vacancy: Microbiologist

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment

Duties & Responsibilities

-Perform microbiological analysis and reporting.

-Conduct sampling and testing of water, raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established plans.

-Carry out environmental monitoring (air, water, surfaces, and personnel hygiene).

-Identify and characterize microorganisms.

-Prepare and sterilize microbiological media and laboratory materials.

-Ensure proper decontamination and disposal of biohazard waste.

-Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

-Maintain accurate laboratory records and reports.

-Calibrate microbiological equipment and manage documentation.

-Monitor laboratory cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance.

-Report non-conformities and deviations.

-Participate in investigations of microbiological issues.

-Prepare Product Release Orders.

-Coordinate external laboratory testing.

-Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements.

-Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

-Report daily activities and results to the internal team.

 Qualifications & Experience

-Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.

-Experience in FMCG or manufacturing quality control laboratory is preferred.

-Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.

 Knowledge & Skills

-Strong knowledge of GLP, GMP, 6S, and quality standards.

-Ability to identify and troubleshoot microbiological issues.

-Hands-on experience in sampling and microbiological testing.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.

-Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

-Detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn.

-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
