[Hiring Opportunity] Specialist Accountant — American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB)

The Finance Department at the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) is currently seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented Specialist Accountant to join our team.

This role plays a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations, ensuring accurate journal entries, bank reconciliations, vendor billings, and intercompany reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

 Cash & Bank Management: Monitor daily cash movements, post cash transactions, record bank entries, and prepare bank activity reports.

 General Ledger & Entries: Prepare journal entries, payment orders, and transfer amount requests.

 Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and post supplier invoices, vendor bills, and sales invoices.

 Financial Reporting & Settlements: Track and settle financial advances, prepare AP/AR/Related Party reports, and handle intercompany reconciliations with sister companies.

 Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain structured physical and digital archiving for financial records.

Candidate Qualifications:

 Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

 Experience: 2 to 4 years of proven hands-on accounting experience.

 Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

 Competencies: Strong analytical capabilities, high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial priorities independently.
