Department: Finance 

Location : Baghdad Al-Mansor 

Working Days & Hours :  6 Days & 9Am-5Pm

1. Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, controlling restaurant costs, monitoring waste, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring accurate reporting. The role focuses heavily on food cost management, inventory control, and supporting profitability improvement.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Daily Accounting Operations

* Record daily journal entries with accuracy and completeness.

* Monitor revenues and expenses for each branch.

* Handle bank reconciliations and monthly closing activities.

* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.

B. Restaurant Cost Control

* Monitor Food & Beverage Cost on a regular basis.

* Perform recipe costing in coordination with the Executive Chef.

* Track consumption rates of raw materials.

* Analyze actual vs. theoretical food cost variances.

C. Waste Management

* Track daily and weekly waste across all branches.

* Analyze waste reasons and recommend corrective actions.

* Prepare detailed waste reports and submit them to operations management.

D. Inventory & Stock Control

* Monitor inventory movements (inbound & outbound).

* Supervise monthly stock count and reconcile system vs. physical stock.

* Investigate inventory discrepancies and propose solutions.

* Maintain proper documentation and approval cycles.

E. Pricing & Profitability Analysis

* Assist in menu costing and menu engineering.

* Evaluate profitability of items, menus, and branches.

* Recommend pricing updates or recipe adjustments.

F. Financial Reporting

* Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow, COGS reports).

* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

* Provide analytical reports for senior management decision-making.

G. Compliance & Audit

* Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.

* Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

* Implement and maintain strong financial controls.

3. Qualifications

Education

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

* Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.

* Mandatory experience in the restaurant / F&B sector, including:

  * Cost control

  * Waste management

  * Inventory & raw materials accounting

  * Profitability analysis

  * POS & restaurant systems

Skills

* Strong knowledge of cost accounting and financial analysis.

* Hands-on experience with accounting software (Odoo, Oracle, SAP, POS systems).

* Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Cost Models).

* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
